So that happened.
Clocking in at just over 125,000 words the first draft of TGHIII is complete! (Waits for applause)
That has been the fastest I’ve ever written a novel (more applause please), so that’s fun. Perhaps my typing is getting faster, the world is getting more concrete in my mind, or – much more likely – I actively pushed myself to write consistently. Who knew that getting that daily word count was the key to getting words on a page?
Now I get to have the sometimes fun and sometimes tedious affair that is editing, cutting and re-writing as part of the second draft. But before that process starts…today might just call for a victory beer.
